Brian Williams Marine Photographer
All about my passion
Hi, my name is Brian Williams, thank you for taking an interest in my photography.
I have been taking photographs since I received a camera as a gift at christmas 1964.
A member of the Royal Photographic Society, Chairman of Wight Balance Photography Plus,
a local camera club judge; judging both club and interclub competitions.
Over the years I have taken many different types of photographs, Wedding, Portrait, Landscape, Wildlife,
working in both colour and monochrome. I have over the years staged exhibitions of my work.
My passion is marine photography.
Living on an Island surrounded by water you can't help but full in love with the sea.
Why I'm not sure? Perhaps the answer is a primeval calling to return from whence we came?
Many others share the same passion
John Masefield in his poem "Sea-Fever" explains it best
I must go down to the seas again, to the lonely sea, and the sky,
And all I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by;
And the wheel's kick and the wind's song and the white sail's shaking,
And a grey mist on the sea's face, and a grey dawn breaking,
I must go down to the seas again, for the call of the running tide
Is a wild call and a clear call that may not be denied;
And all I ask is a windy day with the white clouds flying,
And the flung spray and the blown spume, and the sea-gulls crying.
I must go down to the seas again, to the vagrant gypsy life,To the gull's way and the whale's way where the wind's like a whetted knife;
And all I ask is a merry yarn from a laughing fellow-rover
And quiet sleep and a sweet dream when the long trick's over.
